Why would I want to be a lawyer?
Being a lawyer is quite a good way to earn some extra cash as a civilian. The crime rates in Los Santos are sky high and you will surely find a client.
Gangmembers are often being investigated or followed by LEOs (Law Enforcement Officers), and they need your help to get away.
As a lawyer, you can reduce peoples jail sentences, get them off FBI's radar by neutralizing them and defending them from any charges before they get locked up.
This is a legal job which means that you cannot be arrested for it.
All of the money you make will be received at your upcoming paycheck.
Key terms
Before we start, there are some terms that you should learn.
Notoriety
Notoriety is a measurement of how notorious someone is.
Everytime someone commits a criminal action, they receive notoriety.
Once a player has reached 7.000 notoriety, the FBI can create a casefile on him/her.
After the casefile has been initiated, they can arrest the supect as long as they have above 4.000 notoriety.
Notoriety is given to the player automatically by the server.
Being arrested by the FBI leads to very long jail sentences.
They are also fined a percentage of their total wealth.
Charges
Charges are given to playes when LEOs catch them commiting a crime.
As soon as a player has one charge or above, he can be arrested by the police.
Being arrested by the police leads to low-medium jail sentences, and the fine cannot exceed 5.000$.
Where can I become a lawyer?
When in game, open the map by pressing "ESC" and clicking "Map".
You should see a map similar to this one:
Search for the yellow dot that I've marked out with a red square.
This is how it looks like in person. Run up to the yellow exclamation mark and type /join.
If you're having difficulties finding the location, simply type /findjob and select "Lawyer".
And Click Yes
Lawyer commands and how they work.
As a lawyer, you have access to the following commands:
Let's go through each command seperately.
Finding wanted clients (/wanted).
Wanted suspects tend to hide from cops, thus making it hard for you to locate them.
However, as a lawyer, you have access to the LSPD's database and you are able to find out who is wanted.
While in game, type /wanted and a list of wanted suspects will appear, it looks something like this
he list will only include people who are online at the time.
The numbers represent how many charges they have been given.
Now that you have a list of wanted suspects, you can get in contact with them by texting or calling them.
Use the command /number [Name_Surname] to get someones phone number.
The /number command is available for anyone who has a phone book.
This command works just like the /wanted command.
The key difference here is that this will only display people with high notoriety, and not people who are charged.
While in game, and a list of notorious suspects will appear, it looks something like this:
The numbers represent the amount of notoriety they have.
You can get in contact with these people in the same way that I have described above. (See "Finding Notorious Clients")
Removing peoples charges (/defend).
Once you've tracked down someone from the wanted list (See "Finding Wanted Clients"), you need to remove their charges.
Do this by approaching them and use the command "/defend [ID] [Price]". The minimum price is 200$.
you can see that is no longer on the /wanted list, after i removed his charge with the /defend command:
When you've find someone that wants their notoriety reduced, you can neutralize them.
Do this by approaching them and use the command "/neutralize [ID] [Price]".
This command is a bit tricky since you have to enter the price, rather than the amount of notoriety you want to reduce. However, It's quite easy once you get the hang of it.
Every 10 points of notoriety costs 15$ to remove, so If you input the price as 1500$, you will neutralize 1000 notoriety from the suspect.
Reducing jail sentences (/free).
The final command is /free. /Free is used to reduce people jail time. In order to reduce someones jail time, you first have to visit the prison. The prison is inside of the Los Santos Police Department, which I've marked out on this picture below:
This is how it looks like in person:
Enter the entrance and you will end up in the lobby.
Only LEOs can access the prison, so you will have to contact one of them to lead the way. You can do this by either waiting in the lobby, or call 911 and explain the situation.
The command for calling 911 is simply: "/call 911".
Once an Officer has taken you to the cells, you can use the command "/free [ID]" to reduce any prisoners jail time.
As you level up, will have a lower cooldown on using this command, and you will reduce their jail time by more minutes.
Congratulations, you are now the best lawyer in town!
